Climate

Antigua has an impeccably benign climate, balmy tropical weather and steady year round temperatures, hovering around 80-85 °F (27-30 °C) during the day. Even more attractive, the island is also blessed with wonderful northeasterly tradewind breezes to cool and refresh.

Traditionally the cooler winter months from November to April have little or no daily rainfull with around nine hours of shunshine a day, and refreshing evenings. Only varying slightly, the sporadically cloudy and rainier summer season is between May and October, but still offering up tp seven hours of daily sunshine.

Antigua has a notably low annual rainfall, but tropical showers are nothing to fear anyway, as they typically fall hard and fast and then stop abrubtly, when everything dries out rapidly. They are suprisingly localised, with rain often seen falling at one end of a street of beach - and not at the other.

Very occasionally the Carribean can experience tropical storms between July and October, with August and September sometimes being wetter and more humid - although this never detracts families from flocking to Antigua during this time with children off school.
