You can even see the world’s largest fish, the whale shark, which grows up to 40 feet in length, a gentle plankton eater, harmless to humans and a regular visitor to Seychelles waters. Spectacular trophy sailfish and marlin, together with shark, giant barracuda, rainbow runner and wahoo, make the Seychelles an exciting fishing destination for experiences anglers and novices alike. The variety of charter boats and fishing excursions available allow for individual tailoring of fishing programmes. The fishing season is governed by the trade winds, the south-east being better for big game fishing whilst the north-west, with its calmer sea, is more favourable for sea-bottom fishing.
